The Ticket is $40 dollars and goes to help educate children in rural india, basically a great cause!!!

We’re Back and at a new venue. i’ve played at Black Cat in various bands for ten years or so now. It feels like a second home to me, so i’m glad that my friends there will be our new hosts, and the sound system is spot on there as well.

We Will be having 2 USDB’s in APRIL, and none in MAY.

This one will be at Bossa on April 2nd. The last one was our best turnout and great fun. We had an amazing dance class by Munish Puri, who should be conducting another one at this event. We will let you know, if so, it will again be from 9-10.

The Weather looks to be superb on Friday!!!

The Second event in April is being setup, we will let you know the details.

As for May, The USDB will be on break and returning in June.

Beta-G

The March USDB is a fundraiser for Sub-Continental Drift, the org. that is, in a way, the reason the USDB exists. You see, the first USDB was a benefit for them, and they had a great photo exhibit that came out of their good work, this year, its a music festival that is their goal.

Sub Drift is in the process of organizing “Rock n’ Dhol”, a multi-day musical extravaganza that will take place in May or June (they are still ironing out the venues/acts, etc.). This won’t be cheap, so let’s help to pull this off.

if all works out, this party will be your first chance to purchase your very own Subcontinental Drift t-shirt, hot from the screens.

Can you believe its been one year of the U.S. Department of BHANGRA!!! We started out back then with a new president in office and a mission to diversify the dance scene in DC, I think we are making good with our promise, but we wanna keep it going strong in 2010!!

Normally we are the first friday of the month, but January 1 wouldn’t work, so just this once, we will be having the party on the second friday of the month, the 8th.

The first USDB of 2010 will feature a 4 hour set by DJ Beta-G. Miss Modular will be out of town for her birthday festivities, but she will be back for the 1 year anniversary in February.
